Teacher Mentorship
Someone to accompany you on this journey. Mentorship for Lead teachers, homeschooling parents, assistant teachers, teachers in transition and more.
MentorshipWelcome. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
In many ways, Heartsong Studio feels like the gathering together of so many threads of my life. I am a Waldorf graduate and a Waldorf-trained teacher with more than 30 years of teaching experience. I am also a mother, mentor, coach, artist, and lifelong student of what it means to live a joyful and meaningful life.
Motherhood has been, without question, one of my greatest teachers—and perhaps the toughest job I have ever loved. Raising children, teaching children, and doing the work of healing and tending to my own inner child have deepened my commitment to something I have believed for a very long time: childhood is worthy of our protection.
Children deserve time. They deserve beauty and goodness, muddy feet and open-ended play, songs sung together, stories, nature, imagination, meaningful work, and adults who are willing to slow down enough to truly see them.
My own path began as a Waldorf student and eventually brought me back into the classroom as a Waldorf-trained early childhood teacher. For more than three decades, I have had the privilege of walking alongside children and families. Along the way, I continued my education and became a Simplicity Parenting Family Life Coach and a certified mentor through the Center for Anthroposophy. I now have the joy of mentoring teachers and supporting parents as they find their own way toward creating homes, classrooms, and lives with greater rhythm, connection, and joy.
And now, all of those paths have led me here.
Heartsong Studio is my offering to our local community—a place where children, parents, teachers, and women can gather, create, sing, play, learn, and connect. Whether you come for Play Garden, a song circle, a creative gathering, parent coaching, or teacher mentorship, my hope is that you will find the same qualities woven through everything we do here: beauty, goodness, wonder, connection, and joy.
This work is very close to my heart. I believe that when we protect childhood, nurture the adults who care for children, and make space for creativity and community, we tend to something much larger than ourselves.
I hope you’ll come join us.
With all my heart,
Kristin
Heartsong Studio is a place to gather, grow, create, and connect. Through parent coaching, teacher mentorship, play-based programs for children, and gatherings for women, we offer spaces where childhood is protected, creativity is nurtured, and connection is at the heart of all we do.
The young child is learning through imitation and repetition. They are most receptive to learning when they are around adults who are worthy of imitation.
Worthy of imitation, to me, is not just how you speak or how you move. It is how your nervous system is which becomes how you show up. A regulated nervous system, as a parent, as a teacher, is really important when you are around young children under seven.
It means that you are modeling from your authenticity rather than stress or disregulation. When we think of our selves as embodied, regulated, open, authentic, isn't this who we want our children to see and learn from?
Parenting and teaching from a regulated nervous system and open heart.
My mission is to build a community of empowered, authentically embodied, nourished teachers, parents, and women, who inspire children with open hearts and present minds.
Connecting with self through regulating your own nervous system is the foundation of my work.
From a regulated nervous system we can lead with an open heart and mind, arising to each moment with our authentic self.
