Play-based, nature-based programs for young children in New Ipswich

Activities for young children and the adults around them. Supporting families with play-based activities

A lot of parents are feeling both the love and the challenges of being a parent. Being connected, being in community, being in relationship with others on the path, is really important for feeling supported.

We offer many activities at Heartsong Studio to foster community, connection, fun and creativity.

What does play-based actually mean, day to day?

In a five-hour day there are a good three hours of free, uninterrupted play. Not endless songs, endless curriculum, endless activities. We want to leave free and open space for the child to explore the room, and rhythm, with an adult who is present to facilitate further discovery.

Why does so much of this start with the grown-ups?

The young child is learning through imitation and repetition. They are most receptive when they are around adults who are worthy of imitation. This is not just how you speak or how you move. It is how your nervous system is. When the nervous system is calm and regulated, that the adult is in the present moment, showing up as their authentic self in their body, not thinking of to-dos or the next agenda item. This is part of what we teach and offer at Heartsong Studio. We help adults be able to show up in a state that they and their child deem worthy of immitation.

Where can I find a play-based program near me?

Here at Heartsong Studio, on Old Country Road in New Ipswich, New Hampshire we offer a number of play based learning programs including song circles, the play garden and more.

The foundation of our programs for families

Rhythm

Creating a space that lets a young child and parent feel safe and in the moment, open to explore, be creative and joyful.

Worthy of imitation

In the first seven years the adult in the room is most of the curriculum. We provide a activities for parents and children to enjoy time together, co-regulated and having fun.

Connection

Helping parents connect to their heart and authenticity, so they can connect to their child fully, openly, presently, and joyfully.

A Joyful Noise

Come together with other mothers and learn to co-regulate through song.

Through singing, your breath begins to come into a natural rhythm. When you are singing you are just breathing in the healthiest way. Through song and breath, joy and fun, we connect and co-regulate with our children.

Parent coaching and homeschool support

One hour at a time, for supporting parents with their young child on their parenting journey. Not just for mothers.

And if you are homeschooling: what do I put in the day? How do I create a weekly rhythm? How do I meet the needs of the two-year-old and the six-year-old in the same household?

We start with a fifteen-minute curiosity call where I can see how best to support your needs.
